Charlotte is the largest city of the North Carolina State and 17th by population in the United States of America. Charlotte city is located in Mecklenburg County. It has an area of 629 km ² of which 0.6 km ² are covered by water and a population of 651.101 inhabitants according to estimates from 2005, and with a density of 861.9 inhabitants/ km ² according to the United States Census 2000.
